Music Director

Job Description

Purpose: The music director is responsible for planning, conducting and directing the church music program in coordination with the pastor.

Accountable to: Pastor and the Personnel Committee, to include an annual performance review.

Position to be filled by: Qualified applicant willing and able to meet the expectations and responsibilities of the position, as well as pursue a personal relationship with Central Baptist Church.

Maturity Level: Stable, maturing Christian who is at least twenty-one (21) years old.

Spiritual Gifts: Praise; Music; Worship

Talents and Abilities Desired: Good organizational skills; ability to motivate people; good communicator, patience

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per week.

 Responsibilities

1.    Coordinate and/or assist the pastor regarding music selections

2.    Development of music programs.

3.    Direct the church choir for presentations during worship service and special services, such as determined by the pastor.

4.    Provide organization and leadership for the church choir and special projects, such as; seasonal cantatas, holidays, and commissioning services.

5.    Oversee the administration of the music budget.

6.    Select and purchase materials necessary for the church music program.

7.    Facilitate and manage the care of the sanctuary organ and piano.

 Evaluation

An annual review shall be conducted by the Pastor (in collaboration with the Personnel Committee).

Time sheets need to be sent to Wendy, CBC Treasurer, every 15th and 25th day of the month for payments.
